Constructing Your Birthday Party
1. Get your invitations ready to send out 2 weeks in advance. Plan to mail your construction party invitations 2 weeks prior to your event. Let you little guy decorate the envelopes with stinkers Use our tool stickers for a festive presentation!
2. Set up your party room with your construction party decorations and construction themed balloons
3. Create a Road cake. Bake a cake in a 9X13 pan. Use gel frosting to create a construction scene with roads, rocks (use brown jimmies, Reese Bites), use green spray frosting for grass, etc. Place your construction cone candles on your cake. Be creative with your frosting. Remember to frost and then re-frost when the frosting dries to eliminate crumbs in the frosting. . Or create a tool cake with our fun tool cake topper. Cupcakes are a popular choice and we have fun cupcake picks to decorate your cupcakes. Select from our Construction Hat cupcake picks, tool cupcake picks or street sign cupcake picks or mix and match for a fun table scape.
4. Other birthday cake ideas: load up chocolate cup cakes in a toy dump truck, use mini shovels as your utensils, create a mound of cake and frost with chocolate pudding and serve it out of your dump truck. Use a name tag and write Happy Birthday and display it on the back of the truck as the license plate.
5. Use your Birthday Construction Tape to tape off any areas you may not want your guests or use it to be the finish line for a race. Buy a couple of rolls and create two teams who will create construction mummies with the tape. Use it to tape off your eating area to keep kids corralled so food is not traveling though your home.
6. Use blocks, legos or boxes and have kids create any object of choice. A building, house, vehicle, animal etc. Let them create with no competition or have a building race or contest on most creative. To make it more challenging limit the number of building blocks. If you want a contest but want everyone to win create categories and have a winner in each category. Like largest structure, smallest structure, silliest structure etc.
7. Team up the kids for wheelbarrow races. Or if you have wheelbarrows fill with blocks and create a relay. Put blocks at one end and have the kids fill and return in two sets of teams.
8. Use your hammer & saw cookie cutters or our dumptruck and bulldozer cookie cutters or our screwdriver cookie cutter or plier cookie cutters to make cookies and let the kids decorate or build the ultimate cookie. Use the cookie cutters to make fun shaped ice cream sandwiches.
9. Play a game of hot potato but substitute a potato for a blow up hammer!
10. Use your balloons and have races where your guests have to run holding their balloon between their knees.
11. Use our Construction Truck piñata or Construction Hat Pinatafor a fun game. Fill the piñata with treats or candy.
12. Use a shipping box and have the kids create a construction vehicle. Pre cut cardboard wheels, steering wheels, use stickers and markers and crayons to decorate their vehicles. Use string or old neckties to create suspenders to hold their vehicles on and let them race their vehicles.
13. Play a game of hide the treat bags! Hide all your guests treat bags and have the guest hunt for their treat bag. One bag per guest! Once they locate they can help the others.

15. Sing happy birthday and light your Construction candles. Let your child blow them out.
16. Let your child open their presents.
17. Serve your birthday cake. 18. Most of all have fun!
